In the run-up to the big vote of the For the People Act this month, five of the most extreme, partisan lawmakers have been working around the clock to ensure the For the People Act fails. You can make a donation here to make sure they fail in their efforts to halt this game-changing bill to save our democracy.

Here are the 5 conservatives behind the effort to stop the For the People Act:
1. Marjorie Taylor Greene
Greene has downplayed concerns that voters have to spend a long time waiting at the polls which suppress the vote, while also complaining that she has to ”wait in long lines to enter the chamber” of Congress when she goes to work.
2. Madison Cawthorn
Cawthorn falsely claimed the For the People Act “isn’t meant to secure our elections” and called the bill a “power grab.”
3. Mike Pence
Former Vice President Mike Pence has recently joined the Heritage Foundation, an affiliate of Heritage Action. The same Heritage Action whose executive director was just exposed in a leaked video, bragging about their role in recent voter suppression laws across the country.
4. Mitch McConnell
When a previous version of the For the People Act was passed by the House in the last Congress, McConnell refused to even put it up for a vote. Unsurprisingly, he opposes this new version of the bill too.
5. Kevin McCarthy
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is aligned with the most extreme members of his party who have made unfounded, unsubstantiated predictions of the For the People Act causing “vote fraud.”
The For the People Act includes anti-gerrymandering provisions that would prevent extreme politicians like Greene, Cawthorn, Pence, McConnell, and McCarthy from forcing their unpopular agenda onto the people.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the Senate will vote on the For the People Act this month. But its passage is uncertain, especially as partisan politicians have been working to tank this bill.
