A Note From Chrissy
This May was jam-packed!
I’ve been working hard in Congress to make progress on the issues affecting working families in our Commonwealth – and across our nation. I introduced truly important legislation to support our brave military families and small businesses, and I sent a strong message to the Republicans who tried – and failed – to overthrow our democracy on Jan. 6. With so much going on, I wanted to loop you in on the most important updates:
CNN
Rep. Houlahan: “They were terrorists, not tourists”
On Jan. 6, 2021, we had domestic terrorists in the halls of the U.S Capitol building, desecrating the heart of our democracy. While some members of the Republican Party preferred to look away, I voted to find answers about what happened that day – so we can make sure it never happens again. Country over party. Full stop.

Rep. Houlahan Introduces “Military Moms Matter Act”
I had my first child, my Molly, while serving in the Air Force – it was a difficult process in a lot of ways. Now, as one of only a handful of women veterans in Congress, I want to make it easier for our moms (and dads!) in uniform. That’s why I introduced the Military Moms Matter Act, which expands postpartum care and parental leave for military moms.

Lifetime Achievement Score of 100% from Alliance of Retired Americans
Our seniors in PA have been devastatingly impacted by this pandemic – and I’ve fought tooth and nail to ensure they get the care and resources they need, from health care to Social Security and everything in between. I was so honored when the Alliance of Retired Americans recognized this work with a Lifetime Achievement Score of 100%. I share this honor with the senior community in my district, whom I will continue to fight for in the halls of Congress.

DAILY LOCAL NEWS
Rep. Houlahan convenes panel on community colleges
This month, I had a robust conversation with the leaders of Delaware County Community College, focusing on how the programs offered there increase access to education – and future jobs and financial stability. Community colleges will be critical in bridging the skills gap and building a community where students and job-seekers can thrive in a post-COVID economy.

That’s it for this month, but I’ll be in touch soon with further updates on all the ways I’m fighting for working families in our Commonwealth and across the country.
And, while it's not common practice in Washington, I set aside time every week to call back constituents who've contacted our office. These conversations keep me rooted in the most pressing issues facing our community, including vaccine distribution, upcoming legislation, and more. I’d love to hear from you, too!
There is work to be done.
– Chrissy
While Chrissy is focused on delivering progress in the House, fundraising is the last thing on her mind. But the GOP is already eyeing our critical battleground district, and they just named Chrissy one of their top targets for a blue-to-red flip. We have to begin building up our resources right now to make sure Chrissy can defend this must-win district from Republicans in 2022 – so we’re asking for her:
Will you make a donation to help reelect Chrissy to Congress? Your support will make such a difference in our work to defend this critical Pennsylvania seat and keep the House blue.
