Experts from the Cook Political Report to the Washington Post are saying Virginia’s 2021 gubernatorial race will be exceptionally close. Historically, the party that doesn't hold the White House has had an advantage in Virginia's off-year elections. And we know that what happens here in 2021 will help set the narrative for the 2022 midterm elections.

Terry's first term as governor was incredibly successful. He helped lay the groundwork for the ultimate expansion of Medicaid in Virginia, he restored the voting rights of hundreds of formerly incarcerated Virginians, and he offered a strong moral voice in contrast to the early months of Donald Trump's presidency.

But for Terry to stop his Trump-backed opponent from winning -- and to stop Virginia Republicans from getting any big ideas about 2022 -- we need to respond immediately and with conviction.
