Friend, Joe Manchin's opposition to ending the filibuster will inflict lasting damage on our democracy. It's no wonder Trump stands with him.
If we are to have any hopes of fighting back against the GOP's far-right agenda and extreme voter discrimination efforts across the country, then we must abolish the filibuster. We're fighting back against Joe Manchin's opposition to progress and reality. If we don't do that, then we will be surrendering in the fight against the GOP's march towards authoritarianism.
This is a dire warning to the same Democrats who said Trump never stood a chance in 2016, the same Democrats who are doing nothing to fight voter suppression in states across the country, the same Democrats that, like Joe Manchin, still believe the GOP is willing to accept basic facts about the world around them. And we're counting on Democrats like YOU to step up and show them what needs to be done.
