Friend --
The news cycle these past weeks
would lead you to believe that leaders in Washington are
just now stepping up to hold Trump accountable—wrong.
Trump has been begging to
“go back to the good old days” and it’s beginning to look a lot like July
25th, 1974 when Congresswoman Barbara Jordan delivered a powerful
televised opening statement as the House Judiciary Committee began
consideration of articles of impeachment against President Richard
Nixon.

Black women leaders like our 2018
endorsed candidate Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Maxine Waters, and
others are following in her footsteps and have been consistently and
persistently calling for the impeachment of President
Trump.
On September 12th, Rep. Lucy McBath a member of the House
Judiciary Committee cast a vote to begin an impeachment inquiry into
President Trump.
Back in April, Rep. Pressley stated
in an interview with Boston Public Radio:
“There's a lack of moral fortitude and fitness to even
be in this office...I mean here's the thing — I have felt for a long
time that this administration has lost all moral authority and there
are many impeachable offenses.”
Over two years ago, Rep. Waters
appeared on the podcast “Cape Up” and proudly stated:
“Why would we let somebody like Trump, a con man, come
in here and turn it all upside down with his lies and his disrespect?
And so, I personally feel very strongly about this and I’m going to
keep working until he’s impeached.”
Well, we’re here and we are very
grateful for their persistence.
An impeachment doesn’t mean our
work gets easier. Matter of fact, with impeachment proceedings
beginning we must double down on our work to prepare for what could be
an unknown yet uphill battle of 2020.
Black women’s leadership is making
a difference in Washington. We need your continued support to elect
and mobilize Black women. Join us today, and stand with Black women
leaders like Rep. Ayanna Pressley!
We
need to raise $50,000 by October 25th to show that we are fully vested
in continuing to take back Washington.
We
need 50 people like you to become a member or renew your membership
TODAY to help us reach our goal. Invest in #BlackWomenLead with $100,
$250, $500 or more and we will rush you your very own Chisholm Legacy
mug! (Supplies are limited.)

With your investment we can build
our Road to 2020 by training the next generation of leaders, electing
Black women and preparing Black women voters no matter who we’re up
against come next year.
Onward, Glynda
