Some great news!
Because of the work of Washington Senate Dems, the Southern Resident orca pod is in its strongest condition in a decade! With the birth of a new calf, the endangered Puget Sound orca community is on the path towards recovery.
Our Washington Senate Dems have been working hard to protect endangered orca communities — and now we need you standing with them.
Washington’s orca population is recovering thanks to the leadership of our caucus. Do you support our work to protect endangered species in Washington state? Show us now by adding your name to stand with endangered animals!
Washington’s Southern Resident orca community has been endangered for years, facing threats of dwindling salmon populations — the orcas’ primary food source — along with ship noise and water pollution.
That’s why our members have taken bold action to address this crisis. They established the Southern Resident Killer Whale Task Force and passed bills to reduce Puget Sound boat noise, water pollution, and ensure salmon recovery.
Washington’s orcas are starting to recover, but there is still so much work to be done to protect our environment and our majority is slim, meaning we need a full upswell of support to keep this work up.
That’s why we need you standing with our members as they continue to defend local ecosystems.
Will you add your name to show your support in the next 48 hours?
Thanks for everything,
— The Team at WSDC
