John,
Remember Rep. Jake Auchincloss? The first-term Congressman from Massachusetts organized a sign-on letter and got 10 of his Democratic colleagues to threaten to sink any legislation to lower drug prices that doesn’t cater to Big Pharma interests.
Health care―especially prescription drug premiums―already consumes more than one-third of the average Social Security check. That’s why it’s so important to lower drug prices, and why Democrats defending Big Pharma price gouging is such a disgrace.
So we put a billboard on a truck and drove it around Rep. Auchincloss’ district:
And what do you know, he’s backed off his threats! “I am going to vote for what the Democrats bring to the floor,” he told The Hill.1
We’ve got proof: Billboard trucks work. And while many of Auchincloss’ co-signers have recanted their defense of Big Pharma price gouging, California Congressman Scott Peters hasn’t.
Billboard trucks work, but they aren’t cheap. Can you chip in $7 to drive a billboard truck around Rep. Scott Peters’ district and let his constituents know that he’s putting Pharma profits ahead of their well-being?
Thanks,
Alex Lawson Social Security Works
