Hi John, I’m Val Demings and I am officially running for Senate against Republican Marco Rubio.

You might recognize me from Donald Trump’s impeachment trial -- I was one of the managers tasked with making the case.

But before all that, I was a Black girl who grew up poor in the South. I could only dream of a seat at the table in politics – or even just being in the room.

But here I am -- the first person in my family to graduate from college, representing the people of my district.

And I take that duty seriously. Unlike Marco Rubio.

Unlike Marco Rubio, I won’t sell out when it’s easy.
Unlike Marco Rubio, I won’t bow to strongmen like Donald Trump.
And unlike Marco Rubio, as Florida’s next Senator, I will actually fight for Florida families.

But the GOP machine doesn’t want to see this seat in Democratic hands -- so they are already throwing everything they can to keep my campaign underwater.
