Dear Friend,

If you have not had an opportunity to do so, please submit your personal intentions to be included in three Holy Masses, from June 9 – 11.

Catholic Action for Faith and Family supporters know that Cardinal Burke always keeps to the fore the importance of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Now, turning to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Fountain of life and holiness, we begin the first of three days of meditation and prayer. Jackie Yamauchi and Vicki Leland have inspired me with their call to  Make June Humility Month in Our Parishes”, and I’d like include some of their thoughts in our reflection and three days of prayer.

Everywhere we look, in our emails, shopping at stores – even at the US embassy, at the Vatican of all places, a “rainbow” flag appears, reminding us June signifies Pride Month.  As Catholics, we must recapture June as the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and make June “Humility Month” in our homes and in every Catholic Community – for in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus calls us to learn from Him “for I am meek and humble of heart.”

WHY? Because our souls are at stake. We no longer recognize Truth. Virtuous conduct is an essential requirement for seeing Truth. But in today’s culture, lies are accepted as truth, truth is considered hateful and bigoted, fatherhood and masculinity are belittled, and marriage has been invalidly restructured outside of God’s design. Religious freedoms are eroded, sexual morality is in a chaotic free fall, radical feminism creates an environment that reduces women of all ages to merely objects of pleasure, and innocent life is murdered in the womb in numbers that dwarf all the world’s genocides combined. We live in a society that is increasingly devoid of the virtues of humility, self-control, chastity, wisdom, prudence, selflessness, patience, courage, justice, respect, obedience, magnanimity, moderation, truthfulness, loyalty, gratitude, gentleness, kindness, faith, hope, and love. The result of abandoning the pursuit of these virtues has been the loss of any sense of sin. The consequences of this are devastating our children, our families, our Church, and our nation. The souls of every one of us are in grave danger of being led astray by a near-constant barrage of very alluring sin and evil.

How about, during the month of June, when our culture increasingly celebrates sexual acts that are against nature, we turn to the treasure-trove of Catholicism, and do something concrete to help our families counter the barrage of degrading images and rampant lies we are increasingly subject to in June on television, billboards, magazines, radio, news broadcasts, in schools, on college campuses, in stores, in movies, etc.? How about in what our society calls “pride month,” we just be Catholic -- instead of denying everlasting truths, how about we boldly declare them?

We have great role models and intercessors in saints who extolled the virtues of humility and chastity, such as St. Agnes, St. Aloysius of Gonzaga, St. Maria Goretti, St. Charles Lwanga, St. Dominic Salvo, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Mary of Edessa and St. Gemma Galgani.

O Jesus, divine Savior, deign to cast a look of mercy upon Your children, who assemble in the same spirit of faith, reparation, and love, and come to deplore their own infidelities, and those of all poor sinners, their brethren.

May we touch Your divine Heart and obtain mercy for ourselves, for the world, and for all who are so unhappy as not to love You.
For the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, Jesus, have mercy of us.,
For the crimes of sinners, for the hatred of the impious, Jesus have mercy on us.
For the blasphemies uttered against You, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the sacrileges that profane Your Sacrament of Love, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the outrages against Your divinity, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the injuries of which You are the adorable Victim, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the coldness of the greater part of your children, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the contempt of your loving invitation, Jesus, have mercy on us.,
For Your bitter sadness at the loss of souls, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For Your long waiting at the door of our hearts, Jesus, have mercy on us.
For the heartless scorn that grieves You, Jesus, have mercy on us.

Heart of Jesus, atonement for our sins, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, overwhelmed with insults, have mercy on us. Heart of Jesus, broken for our sins, have mercy on us.

O most holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing, I adore You, I love You, and with a lively sorrow for my sins, I offer You this poor heart of mine. Make me humble, patient, pure, and wholly obedient to Your will. Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in You and for You. Protect me in the midst of danger; comfort me in my afflictions. Give me health of body, assistance in my temporal needs, (mention your personal intentions here) Your blessing on all that I do, and the grace of a holy death. Amen.

Submit your intentions for the 3 days of Holy Masses:  June 9, 10 and 11 (Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus):

Together, let us continue to Storm Heaven, invoking the Heart of Jesus, who is rich in mercy and love, to have mercy on us and on the whole world!
