John, I am still feeling energized after the National Immigrant Justice Center’s (NIJC) virtual 22nd Annual Human Rights Awards yesterday!

It was amazing to see the hundreds of people who came together online to listen to the stories of immigrants, advocates, and supporters. And the many people and sponsor organizations who together donated critical funds to provide life-changing legal services to thousands of immigrants! After hearing from the leaders in yesterday's program, I am truly inspired by the power of our community to make change.

You can watch a recording of the 22nd Annual Human Rights Awards livestream here.

Samer, an NIJC client who was part of the panel discussion yesterday, spoke about the fragile nature of being safe and secure, and it really resonates with the work we do at NIJC. He said, "While I have the foundation of security, we must continue to fight in order to help secure that safety for millions of others just like us in this country - and in the world."

A huge thanks to the hundreds of people who donated during the Human Rights Awards. If you didn’t get a chance to donate, there’s still time. We are 76% of the way to our goal! Your donation to NIJC keeps a family together, protects an asylum seeker, and creates systemic change to make our immigration laws and policies more humane.

And thanks to a generous match from the JB and MK Pritzker Family Foundation, your donation will have twice the impact! You can donate here to provide life-changing legal services and programs that support immigrant rights.

Plus, we have some great silent auction items available this year like a dinner for 10 at Etta in Chicago, an in-home private wine tasting from Wines for Humanity, and tickets to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Lyric Opera of Chicago. The silent auction is open until Monday, June 14 at 5:00 PM CT, so place your bids now.

We are proud to fight for justice for all alongside you. Our work together to create a more just and equitable world continues.

Thank you,

Mary Meg McCarthy
