Pride Month is a special time in our country, where we band together to raise the voices of the LGBTQ+ who have done so much for our communities. But Pride isn’t something that should be seasonal. We should be proud of and thankful for the LGBTQ+ every day.

These people are trailblazers, defying hate and prejudice every day of our lives, and exemplifying the strength and bravery that everyone can all admire. These stories can teach us how to be the America that we truly want to be. An accepting melting pot of experiences and backgrounds that support each other through thick and thin.

However, actions speak louder than words, and if we are to truly say that we value and cherish the LGBTQ+, we must stand with the trans and intersex communities. We must fight for their rights and freedoms, which are being challenged daily.

Our country was founded on equality, and we are stronger when everyone has the freedom to live their life to the fullest, and a voice to speak out against injustice. These communities are part of our American family, and they deserve all of the love and support in the world.

So I urge you during this Pride Month to take pride in these individuals that make our community great, to listen and learn about their experiences and take action to ensure that these people feel valued not only in June but every day.

Thank you and happy Pride!
