Celebrate Juneteenth with the Charles H. Wright Museum at their Juneteenth Jubilee Freedom Weekend Event!
June 17 - 20

Celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day, Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, with the Charles H. Wright Museum's Juneteenth Jubilee Freedom Weekend, June 17 - 20. This hybrid celebration (online with some in-person elements), will focus on the themes of education, economic independence and engagement. Visit the event page for all the details. (Description of Juneteenth from the Wright Museum below.)

"What is Juneteenth?
Juneteenth dates back to June 19, 1865, when Union Major General Gordon Granger landed at Galveston, Texas with the news that the Civil War ended, and that the enslaved were now free. This announcement was more than two and a half years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation." (Wright Museum, Juneteenth Jubilee Freedom Weekend page)

ACCESS' Campaign to TAKE ON HATE (TOH)
We stand in support and solidarity with the Palestinian American Community Center, which was recently a target of Anti-Palestinian and Islamophobic threats. This incident of violence is concerning and reminds us of the work that needs to be done to dismantle hate against Palestinian, Arab and Muslim communities. If you are a victim of hate, please see the resources below: Follow TOH on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
