Join us for a painting event in support of refugee families
ACCESS and Painting with a Twist are partnering from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 18, for a fun, virtual painting event dedicated to raising money for refugee families in honor of World Refugee Day on June 20.
Registration, which costs $50 per person, includes all painting supplies and live online instruction by an artist.

The money raised will support refugees with essential items like food, clothing, school supplies, cleaning supplies, baby formula, diapers and hygiene products, in addition to housing and utility assistance.
Register by Thursday, June 10 to receive your supplies ahead of the June 18 painting demonstration (passcode: ACCESS).

Arab Health Summit: Advancing Health Equity for Women Amidst a Pandemic
October 19 - 21, 2021, in-person in Dearborn, MI and online
We are proud to announce that the ACCESS 9th Arab Health Summit will be held on October 19 - 21, 2021 using a hybrid model. We will offer both virtual and in-person options for attendees. Our summit theme is Advancing Health Equity for Women Amidst a Pandemic. Our goal is to address issues that impact women’s health locally and globally with a special focus on bridging the gender gap that exists within our homes, communities and healthcare settings.

Celebrate Juneteenth with the Charles H. Wright Museum at their Juneteenth Jubilee Freedom Weekend Event!
June 17 - 20
Celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day, Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, with the Charles H. Wright Museum's Juneteenth Jubilee Freedom Weekend, June 17 - 20. This hybrid celebration (online with some in-person elements), will focus on the themes of education, economic independence and engagement. Visit the event page for all the details. Juneteenth dates back to June 19, 1865, when Union Major General Gordon Granger landed at Galveston, Texas with the news that the Civil War ended, and that the enslaved were now free. Center for Arab American Philanthropy (CAAP)
- Scholarships: CAAP proudly supports the educational journeys of many students. Through various scholarships, students' financial stress is eased, allowing them to excel in their academic and professional careers.
- CAAP raises $75,000 for Taawon Fund in support of Palestine: This past month has been especially devastating for Palestinians in East Jerusalem and Gaza as they faced deadly attacks from the Israeli occupation forces. Taawon, a leading nonprofit in Palestine, will use our support toward aid for Palestinians.
