** Alaska Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS)
------------------------------------------------------------
YRBS is a school-based survey that collects important information about the health of Alaska teens, including health risk behaviors and social problems like homelessness.

Below is the percentage of students that participated in the YRBS that self reported experiencing homelessness in 2019:

** Alaska ARPA Tracking

** Reaching Americans Experiencing Homelessness: Economic Impact Payment and IRS Free File WEBINAR
------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. government has disbursed billions of dollars in economic relief to Americans. Unfortunately, the people who need these Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) the most often have the hardest time accessing this vital resource.

People experiencing homelessness often lack a permanent address and a bank account, which makes it difficult for them to receive the payments the main ways the government sends them: through the mail and by direct deposit.

Fortunately, it’s not too late to help people experiencing homelessness claim their payments. They can still get a “Recovery Rebate Credit.”

During this 90-minute webinar, participants will learn:

• how to help people experiencing homelessness access their Economic Impact Payments;
• how to become a “trusted IRS partner” to receive rebate checks on behalf of people experiencing homelessness;
• how to navigate the FreeFile program to help clients file a 2020 Tax Return; and
• how to access the most up-to-date information regarding Economic Impact Payments.

** Federal Appeals Court Keeps CDC Eviction Moratorium in Place as Realtors Appeal to Supreme Court
------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled on June 2 that it would continue to stay a lower court ruling seeking to overturn the CDC eviction moratorium. This latest ruling leaves the moratorium in-place, so that millions of households behind on their rent continue to receive eviction protections. Moreover, the court, which is the highest court to date to address the eviction moratorium, noted that the Department of Justice “made a strong showing that it is likely to succeed” on its appeal of the lower court’s order to overturn the moratorium.

** Using ARPA Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to Develop Affordable Housing
------------------------------------------------------------
The American Rescue Plan Act ([link removed]) (ARPA) allocated $350 billion in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds ([link removed]) (Fiscal Recovery Funds) to help states, counties, cities, and tribal governments respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency, address its economic fallout, and lay the foundation for an equitable recovery. Fiscal Recovery Funds provide flexibility for governments to meet local needs, including providing emergency rental assistance, addressing the housing and health needs of people experiencing homelessness, and building and preserving affordable housing in impacted communities. ** CDBG-CV Toolkit Now Available
------------------------------------------------------------

The CDBG-CV Toolkit ([link removed]) is now available on the HUD Exchange to assist grantees’ ongoing identification and implementation of CDBG-CV program activities that best serve their communities. The Toolkit categorizes and organizes CDBG-CV specific and relevant tools and training resources in one location to foster quick and easy access. Using the Toolkit, grantees can navigate guidance and training in key subject areas:
* National Objectives
* Eligible Uses
* Duplication of Benefits
* Program Management
* Financial Management
* Documentation
* State CDBG-CV Implementation

As future CDBG-CV resources and webinar recordings are published, they will be added to the Toolkit so grantees can view all resources in context with others on the same topics.

** Outreach Updates

The next mobile vaccination clinic with Visit Healthcare is this Friday, June 11^th at the Web from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Outreach staff will be assisting on the ground as vaccines are administered.
