Friends, Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won our party’s nomination in the primary elections yesterday! Here are the Democratic nominees for statewide office:
In addition, nominees from both parties have been chosen for all 100 seats in the House of Delegates. Primary elections are often difficult business, as they ask us to select among candidates who largely share our values, priorities, and a vision of what Virginia can and should look like. Now, it’s time to pull together to defend that vision: a Commonwealth with a strong public education system, accessible and affordable healthcare, clean air and water, and a fair criminal justice system. Too much is at stake to be complacent this year. All of the gains we’ve made over the last few years — for gun control, the environment, equal rights, increased wages, and much more — could be undone if we don’t defend the governorship and our Democratic majorities. Already, we’ve seen numerous warning signs across the country where the GOP has made countless attempts at voter suppression and disenfranchisement. The only way to keep that from happening here is by making sure that every Virginian’s voice is heard. Thanks for working with us to make Virginia a place that works for everyone. — Ghazala
