I have some big news. Just a couple minutes ago, Texas Democrats launched Project Texas: our official strategy to register every Texas Democratic voter before the 2022 elections.

Friend, this is a really big deal -- and not just because this strategy will be at the heart of our organizing effort for the next 17 months. Many of you were dedicated volunteers during the 2020 election. So you know that one of our biggest takeaways is this: if we want a serious shot at defeating Texas Republicans, we have to register more voters.

With Project Texas, that’s exactly what we’re going to do. So before I share the details about how we’re going to make it happen, I need to ask: will you chip in $7 to power Project Texas today?

Here’s the deal. There are about 2 million Texans who are eligible to vote, but not yet registered -- and likely to vote for Democrats. We want to register all of them. So we’ve built out a plan to make it happen.

First, we’re going to test out six different approaches to encouraging Texans to register to vote -- some classic approaches, like talking to people in person, and some newer ones, like putting ads up on social media. That’s the pilot program stage, and for the rest of 2021, this will be our top focus. Then, we’ll run the numbers to see which approaches work the best -- and we’ll scale up the most effective methods to do a massive voter registration push in 2022.

This is personally so exciting and meaningful for me, because as many of you know, registering more voters -- and getting more people access to the ballot box to make their voice heard -- has been my passion for a while now. But after what happened this spring, registering Texans is that much more urgent.

Texas Republicans have made their strategy very clear: they are so afraid of being voted out of office that they are simply trying to stop Texans from voting. Friend, they are straight up trying to silence the voices of millions of people across this state. But you know what Texas Democrats say to that? See you at the ballot box.

One of the best ways we can fight back against Republicans is by helping every eligible Texan make their voice heard. But we can’t do it without you -- and to put this plan into action, we need to be all in, from the start. Chip in $7 to take the fight to Texas Republicans -- and take the next step to take back our state.
