Yesterday was a big primary election day for Virginia and New Jersey -- two states that NIRH and NIRH Action Fund have worked in for years to push forward policy to expand reproductive freedom and help build political power.

NIRH Action Fund has worked in Virginia since 2015, helping to flip seat after seat in the state legislature until champions of reproductive freedom gained a majority in both chambers and were able to do the critical work of removing medically unnecessary restrictions and financial barriers to care. Those gains need to be protected and more still needs to be done.

NIRH has been working in New Jersey on the Reproductive Freedom Act, groundbreaking omnibus legislation to enshrine reproductive freedom in state law, remove barriers to abortion care, and create more equitable access to reproductive health care. In this year’s gubernatorial and state legislative elections, we must elect bold champions for abortion access to continue to move progressive reproductive health care policy.

John, so much is at stake on the ballot -- will you support this critical work?

With news that the Supreme Court will hear a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, progressive states must do all they can to protect and expand reproductive freedom in every election. We are working hand in hand with partners in states across the country -- including Virginia and New Jersey -- to do just this. Help us continue this work today.
