A healthy diet is essential to living well with diabetes. But what does it mean to eat well? For many people, learning how to cook and eat healthy food to manage their blood sugar and control diabetes is a very challenging thing. Diabetes meal planning, reading food labels, and knowing how to shop for healthy foods can all be very intimidating and confusing. Community Health Workers and other community-based service providers are essential to helping patients learn how to create a healthy eating plan. It can be particularly difficult for low income and immigrant populations to navigate health eating options. This webinar will focus on the unique challenges many Latino communities face when trying to implement and maintain a nutritionally sound diet while remaining true to ethnic and cultural norms.
