Campaign update: We had the BEST time last weekend at Pocono Pride +
Pittsburgh Pride. 🌈
Me, Gisele, and the kids were all there. Celebrating love and reaffirming
the need to guarantee LGBTQIA+ rights under law. Doesn’t get much better
than that.

On Saturday morning, the streets of downtown Pittsburgh were flooded with
rainbows as far as the eye could see. It was so so so so nice to be
surrounded by people again.

Back when marriage equality was still unjustly illegal, I was the *first*
public official in Pennsylvania to officiate same-sex marriages. Gisele
and I are raising our kids by the words love is love.
The truth is that many forms of discrimination against LGBTQIA+ people are
still perfectly legal in America. That’s why passing the Equality Act and
guaranteeing rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ people is *such* an
important, integral part of our campaign for U.S. Senate.

I wore a rainbow lei and my best Pride Flag to both parades to show
solidarity. Makes me kinda wonder if the Pennsylvania GOP’s flag police
would approve of my outfit… or try to confiscate it. 😂

After celebrating Pride under the hot Pennsylvania sun, we were glad to
pick up some ice pops (in every color of the rainbow). It must also be
said: There’s Team Grape — and then there are the deeply misguided other
flavors.

Look, from local Pride parades to the Equality Act, we must *never* stop
pushing for equal protection under the law for everyone. And if I have the
honor of serving in the U.S. Senate, I pledge to you that I will *always*
fight boldly, relentlessly, and proudly for LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms.
