Free summer meals programs fill the gap and save children from months of hunger and its related effects including poor health and summer learning loss. As we do every summer, Hunger Free America’s national network of AmeriCorps VISTA members will continue to prevent a summer food gap and ensure families know how they can get federally-funded meals for their kids. And our CEO, Joel Berg, is personally taking an 8,000 mile journey across the country to raise awareness about the importance of summer meals and enacting policy solutions to permanently end hunger.
