NYT, MSNBC's Mara Gay: 'Disturbing' to see 'dozens of American flags' on trucks in Long Island  It is astonishing that we have come to the point in America where an American is disturbed by the flying of the American flag, and when she says this on a major cable news channel, the hostess (the daughter of a former National Security Advisor, no less) simply agrees. This level of self-hatred by so many of our elites has worrisome implications for our civic health and also for our national security. Our opponents in Beijing, Moscow, Tehran and Havana must be really enjoying this moment. Heritage expert: Mike Gonzalez

Americans Must Resist Rising Anti-Semitism – Since the re-establishment of the Jewish State in 1948, one force after another, from Nasserite Arabs to Persia’s theocratic fanatics, have tried to push Israel into the sea. The late Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Lord Jonathon Sacks, had it right: ”The Jewish people in its very being constitutes a living protest against a world of hatred, violence, and war.” But the drive to genocide has never been about Israel alone — it is about the Jews on every continent. The ancient hatred now simmers under the veneer of European culture. Jews in Europe are fleeing violence in places once thought safe, like France and Italy, to the safety of the Israeli lifeboat. The exodus would have happened in the United Kingdom had the Squad’s Labour hero, Jeremy Corbyn, been given the keys to 10 Downing Street. Israel has now replaced the United States as the home of the largest Jewish community on earth because the Jewish State is not afraid to fight back. As anti-Semitism raises its ugly head in the U.S., some Americans are also fighting back, but more should join them. Heritage expert: Sec. Robert Wilkie

What Does The Marine Corps’ Return To The Sea Mean For The Army? – Congress should take the opportunity to examine this area and satisfy itself that adequate provisions have been made for the Army to support the Marine Corps in a timely and realistic manner. The task will not be easy. With two decades of deferred modernization to address as the war in Afghanistan sputters to an end, the health of the Army’s armored forces is already an unfunded priority within its own request. Further, there is interest within the House of Representatives in securing a post-war “peace dividend” in the form of deep defense budget cuts, indicating little appetite for spending beyond the Services’ own expressed priorities. However, limited political interest does not obviate the necessity of addressing this potential armor shortfall. With the restructuring within the Marine Corps now a reality, Congress must consider adding resources to support additional armor and potentially artillery capability to the Army to offset a potential increase in demand for the joint force. Heritage expert: Tom Spoehr
