Dear Colorado Republicans,

As I continue to travel Colorado, it's great to see all the new faces at county party meetings and events. People across our state are transforming their frustration and anger at Jared Polis and his Boulder elites into effective action. Our people are already working on reaching voters at the precinct level, recruiting great local candidates, and forming teams that -- together -- will talk early to voters about the issues and ideas they care about. The Republican plan for Colorado is a plan for a better future.

Speaking of working precincts, we are hosting two precinct leader trainings in June for our Denver Metro counties. If your county wants to get a jump start on this important work, reach out to your county GOP and offer to help get the ball rolling. Or, plug in a different way...we need your skills and talents across the state to reach our communities. This week, ask yourself what you can offer and who you can bring with you. I look forward to seeing you in your corner of the state!

Thanks,

Kristi Burton Brown

Democrats are trying to block Colorado voters from cutting property taxes

Colorado Peak Politics: Liberals in the state legislature dropped a last-minute bill this week to radically alter a proposed ballot initiative for November that would reduce property taxes.

With Democrat-fueled inflation accelerating across the country, Colorado Rising State Action introduced the ballot measure earlier this spring to provide Colorado homeowners relief from skyrocketing real estate values and soaring property tax assessments.

The group won approval for Initiative 27 at the end of May, permitting signature collection to proceed. Under existing law the measure would allow voters to consider across the board property tax cuts in November.

But now Democrats are attempting to sabotage the effort because they know the property tax cuts will be popular with voters.

Colorado mother calls for end to critical race theory 'nightmare,' rebukes local school board

Fox News:  A Colorado mother of two said on Thursday that critical race theory is "damaging" to children after she delivered a rebuke to ther Douglas County School District at a board meeting.

"Equity policy is the same as critical race theory and the reason why it’s so damaging is it divides students into groups. It is not the same as equality or equal opportunity which is what every parent is for and what the civil rights movement was for," Deborah Flora told "America’s Newsroom."

"Equity basically says there has to be an equal outcome which only happens when you gerrymander a system to favor one group over another."

Denver school board cowardice leaves students to lead

Washington Examiner:  As allegations arise that Denver Public Schools board member Tay Anderson, arguably Colorado’s most prominent BLM and "defund the police" activist, has sexually assaulted at least 62 students (allegedly as young as 14 and almost all undocumented), his comrades on the school board have acted shamefully and fecklessly.

Let’s be clear: We’re not talking about uncorroborated allegations of sexual assault from childhood decades ago. We’re talking about allegations from within the past few years against a current school board member with direct responsibility and influence over children. We’re talking about a school board member who has a documented history of intimidation and other recent accusations of sexual assault.

Anderson, 22, now stands accused of abusing students from unwanted touching to “violent acts of rape.” He also purportedly intimidated his alleged victims with statements like “I’ll find you anywhere” and threats of deportation. Resignation is not conviction. He needs to be off the board.
