Team,
NewDems are always looking toward the future and how to innovate to win the most competitive races in the country. That’s why our recent retrospective analysis on the 2020 cycle didn’t just examine what went wrong, but also dug into what worked. Here’s what we found.
Year-round organizing made a difference in close races, especially in states like Georgia where Democratic juggernauts like Stacey Abrams were doing the hard work to out-organize Republicans at every turn. In districts where candidates had started voter registration efforts and organized communities of color prior to the pandemic, campaigns saw a positive return on this investment come Election Day.

In 2020, NewDem Action Fund defended 22 of the most competitive races and flipped three seats from red to blue. Heading into 2022, we must ensure NewDem campaigns have the resources to organize year-round, not just settle on mobilizing voters in the final weeks.
But we need you with us. We must build on what works and help NewDem campaigns in the most competitive districts organize to win! Chip in today!

If we don’t learn from 2020, we’ll be doomed to repeat another disappointing election night for House Democrats. With a razor-thin majority in the House, we can’t afford anything less than leaving it all on the field in 2022.
Thank you for joining the fight,
NewDem Action Fund
