John— Earlier today, Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Representatives Judy Chu (D-CA), Lois Frankel (D-FL), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Veronica Escobar (D-TX) introduced the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) — bringing us one step closer to safeguarding the federal right to abortion should Roe v. Wade fall.

We only have a small window of opportunity to pass WHPA before the Supreme Court has the chance to overturn Roe, and we need all hands on deck to get this bill through Congress.

Next week, the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) will be introduced in Congress — a crucial federal bill to protect our right to abortion even if Roe is overturned. Urge your member of Congress to cosponsor WHPA now!

With the Supreme Court set to hear a case that directly challenges Roe v. Wade, the anti-choice supermajority on the Court has the power to gut the right to abortion.This is the biggest threat we’ve seen in DECADES.

And the consequences would be immediate. Eleven states have “trigger bans” in place which would ban abortion immediately if Roe is overturned. And 24 states would likely move quickly to ban abortion outright.

Congress needs to know that the overwhelming majority of Americans support the legal right to abortion and that we won’t accept inaction in the face of unprecedented threats to Roe. Tell your representative to cosponsor WHPA now!

In 2021 alone, anti-choice lawmakers determined to advance their agenda of power and control have pushed over 300 state-level bills to ban or restrict abortion across the country — meant to make it harder, if not impossible, to access care.

WHPA will protect the right to access abortion care free from bans and medically unnecessary restrictions, ensuring that our rights do not depend on our zip code.

The time to take action is now. Tell your representative they must support WHPA.
