John,

Every June, we celebrate the LGBTQ community and the ongoing struggle for equality and dignity for all LGBTQ Americans.

But once again, their rights are being threatened. On the first day of Pride Month, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an anti-trans bill that would ban transgender youth from participating in sports. And that's just one example.

Republican-controlled legislatures and governorships in many states are pushing bills that not only ban trans kids from playing sports but also make it harder, or even impossible, for trans youth to get gender-affirming care.

I was proud to co-sponsor the Equality Act, which would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity when it passed the House again earlier this year. President Biden is ready to sign the bill into law, but it's stuck in the Senate.

John, that's why I'm asking you to call on Senate Republicans to stop their obstruction and pass the Equality Act to protect LGBTQ Americans from discrimination.

This Pride month more than ever, we should recommit ourselves to ending injustice and making sure everyone is treated equally under the law, regardless of who they are or who they love.

Happy Pride,
