Voter suppression bills. Police
accountability and transparency legislation. The
budget. Things have been quite busy in Lansing!
My team and I have been closely watching and speaking
out against the bills in the Michigan legislature that seek to make it
harder for some Michiganders to vote and are based on a lie. Michigan
conducted more than 250 audits of the 2020 election and found no
evidence of voter fraud. And Michigan voters overwhelmingly want
greater access and ease of voting, not more
restrictions. Meanwhile, for months I've been working for
months with colleagues and various groups on bipartisan legislation to
improve police accountability and transparency. Many of these changes
are long overdue, and I'm feeling optimistic that we can get these
solutions passed this term and begin to make a significant difference
for the community by preventing tragic injustices and bringing more
accountability. You can read about our bill package here. Lastly,
my team and I have been advocating for various criminal justice,
environmental, and community priorities in the state budget and we
know a lot will be happening this month to (hopefully) get this budget
finalized and sent to the Governor's desk! Team Chang has been working harder than ever.
Can you chip in $5, $10, or $25 to help us stay on track for our
fundraising goals?
