OCTOBER 10, 2019: A ScottRasmussen.com national survey ([link removed]) found that 20% of voters nationwide consider healthcare to be the most important issue facing the nation today. Sixteen percent (16%) name the economy as the most important issue while 11% believe national security is number one.[1] ([link removed])

Nine percent (9%) believe immigration is most important, 8% say gun laws, and 7% look primarily for environmental issues.

Despite all the twists and turns of the political world, voter priorities have remained relatively constant.

ScottRasmussen.com has asked this same question every month for more than a year. We have also asked related questions ([link removed]) about how important each issue is to voters. In the monthly surveys and in both versions of the question, healthcare and the economy consistently emerge as the top issues. National security and immigration have typically been third or fourth on the priority list.

This latest survey was conducted October 4-5, 2019.
