Lifting children out of poverty: most Americans would receive $3,000 a year for each child ages 6 to 17, and $3,600 for each child under 6 until 2025.

$85 billion in pell grants for low-income, higher education students; $109 billion to cover two years of free community college.

$225 billion for childcare: low- and middle-income families would not pay more than 7 percent of their income on child care for children under age 5

It's time to invest in workers. $15/hour for child-care providers and workers. Closed day-care centers and schools have taken a disproportionately heavy toll on women, who often must choose between staying home with their children and returning to work.

$200 billion to free, universal preschool for all 3- and 4-year olds. Early childhood education matters!

$225 billion over a decade toward paid family and medical leave; $4,000 a month for workers when they take family or medical leave; guaranteed 12 weeks of paid parental, family and personal illness leave; three days of bereavement leave per year
