WELCOME TO PRIDE MONTH!

Just like everyone else, we’re still navigating our way back toward some sort of normal. But we’re so excited that it’s Pride Month, and GLASS continues to be proud to be the Senate’s LGBTQ Staff Association. We’ll be offering our members a mix of in-person and virtual programming this month. We hope you’ll be able to join us!

GLASS Professional Development Panel — Friday, June 18

We’re hosting a virtual panel on Friday, June 18 at 3 p.m. ET where GLASS members will engage with senior LGBTQ staffers in press, policy, and administrative positions in the Senate. Topics discussed may include insight into day-to-day jobs, advice for junior staffers looking for long term careers in the Senate, how to negotiate salaries, and how to encourage mentorship relationships between junior and senior staff.

Outdoor GLASS Happy Hour at Logan Circle — Thursday, June 24

Come join your friends in GLASS for our first in-person gathering on Thursday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Please RSVP and bring your own chairs, blankets, and drinks and plan to follow CDC guidance.

Virtual Pride Shabbat with LGBT CSA and Congressional Jewish Staff Association — Friday, June 25

Please join us on Friday, June 25 at 5 p.m. ET for a Pride Shabbat Celebration with our friends in the LGBT Congressional Staff Association and the Congressional Jewish Staff Association. We hope this will be a fun way to gather and meet members from all of our great organizations.

GLASS Member Spotlight

Calvin Wilborn (Sen. Raphael Warnock)

Calvin Wilborn is GLASS Social Director and a Legislative Correspondent in the Office of Senator Raphael Warnock covering transportation, infrastructure, water, and agriculture. Calvin previously worked for Senator Doug Jones as special assistant and intern coordinator. Calvin graduated from Auburn University and is a native of the “Peanut Capital of the World,” Dothan, Alabama. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and riding his horse Blaze.
