Give now to take part in the Matching Gift Challenge ▸

Dear Friend,

This is the final day to join our Matching Gift Challenge and help us meet our goal of $400,000 by midnight tonight: Will you help with a first-time gift?

A group of generous supporters has contributed to our Matching Gift Challenge Fund to encourage people like you who believe in Mercy Corps’ work to match their gifts. When your gift matches theirs, together, we can make an even greater difference.

Your gift could help our teams meet the urgent needs of someone like Adswet. She and her 3 children are among the more than 50,000 people who have fled the violence that erupted in Ethiopia last year. Her family now lives in the Um Rakuba camp in Sudan.

The camp currently houses about 20,000 refugees, with 100-150 people arriving per day. Mercy Corps is there, working with camp leaders to provide emergency cash assistance, and to support the primary health clinic.

Dr. Mohamed helps a patient in Sudan’s Um Rakuba camp, where the Mercy Corps-supported clinic is the main medical facility, supporting 30-50 patients per day.

While a lot of our work starts as emergency response, Mercy Corps is equally committed to investing in long-term solutions to hunger and poverty. That means helping people recover after the initial shocks of crisis, and helping communities become more resilient to future risks.

We can’t always predict what’s next — hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic activity, or other disasters — but your support helps us be ready with the resources needed to mobilize when the next emergency strikes.

Please consider making a first-time gift today to help us meet our $400,000 Matching Gift Challenge Goal.

Sincerely,

Grace Ndungu
