Dear John
A year on from the IPCC report that gave us 12 years to save the planet, climate has never been a hotter topic. Which is fitting, considering the last 4 years were the hottest on record.
Since 1990, winter temperatures in the Arctic have risen by 3°C. That might feel like something far removed from your own life – few of us have ever complained of balmy Arctic winters after all – but global heating impacts all of us. Although it’s the world’s most vulnerable communities that are hit the hardest.
Please will you chip in to help put our Climate Action plan in place by the end of 2020?

We can’t stand and watch as people face food shortages, families are forced from their homes, and species after species fades into extinction. The solutions are out there, we have an achievable plan, but we require action now.
A donation from you will support our vital work including:
- Supporting Climate Action groups to create change on a local level.
- Campaigning to stop climate-wrecking decisions like airport expansion and weakening fracking rules.
- Pushing the government to adopt our ambitious Climate Action plan by the end of 2020.

The biggest challenge when it comes to tackling climate chaos is not ignorance, but inaction. We’ve already got the solutions: fund public transport, invest in clean energy, and double tree cover (to name but a few).
The window of opportunity is closing. But people like Greta Thunberg, the climate strikers, my colleagues here and all of you give me hope.
Together, we must create a social tipping point before we reach a climate one.
Thank you for all that you do,
Aaron Kiely
