urges House leaders to support efforts to overturn harmful true lender rule
NAFCU’s Brad Thaler Monday wrote to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., along with all House members,
to call for support of a resolution to overturn the Office of the Comptroller
of the Currency's (OCC) true lender rule using the Congressional Review Act
(CRA). Last month, the Senate voted in favor of repealing the rule.

On Friday, NAFCU Regulatory Counsel Dale Baker attended a virtual meeting where
the Uniform Law Commission’s (ULC) Uniform Personal Data Protection Act (UPDPA)
drafting committee presented the finalized UPDPA.

call report data reveals continuing industry gain
In the face of
an ongoing pandemic, membership at federally-insured credit unions continued to
grow in the first quarter of 2021 – reaching 125.7 million – according to
the NCUA's latest call report data. In addition, total assets rose by 19.0
percent over the quarter to $1.95 trillion.
