A federal judge just compared a military-style assault weapon to a Swiss Army knife – and then struck down California’s decades-long assault weapons ban.
John, this shouldn’t even have to be said, but an AR-15 is not the same as a Swiss Army Knife. These deadly weapons of war do not belong in the hands of civilians.

In Parkland, an assault weapon was used to shoot and kill 17 people, not a knife.
In Las Vegas, an assault weapon was used to shoot and kill 61 people, not a knife.
In Newtown, an assault weapon was used to shoot and kill 28 people – including children, not a knife.
We are talking about weapons of war that are designed to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible. Banning assault weapons keeps Americans safe and saves lives – and this gun lobby-backed ruling means we have to work harder than ever to do it.
