John, Connecticut has
officially taken the next step toward permanently implementing
no-excuse absentee voting in our state:

Hartford Courant headline: No-excuse absentee ballots move a step
closer to reality in Connecticut; voters could have say in 2024

Days after sending the Early Voting amendment to the 2022 ballot,
Connecticut legislators passed a resolution in support of the
No-Excuse Absentee Ballot amendment — but CT Republicans took a
page out of Mitch McConnell’s playbook and stalled the absentee
ballot initiative until 2024 at the earliest.

CT Dems will continue the fight to make sure your voice is heard.
If you plan to support permanently implementing no-excuse
absentee voting and early voting in Connecticut on upcoming
ballots, will you sign our petition to let us know?

Last month, the CT Democratic Party polled our supporters asking
if Connecticut should implement early voting and no-excuse
absentee voting — 95% of respondents said yes!

John, these results are
encouraging, but we know that the GOP will do anything they can
to prevent either of these changes from happening. Here’s what
one Connecticut resident said in response to our survey:

“All Republicans will most likely oppose it because their goal is
voter suppression. Voter fraud is practically non-existent in
Connecticut. Their goal is to keep people (Democrats) from
voting.”

They’re right — that’s why It’s critical that everyone who
supports early voting and no-excuse absentee voting makes their
voice heard. Add your name to our petition if you plan to support
both of these measures!
