John,
I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss this email from Abigail. Special interest groups continue to attack her work to lower prescription drug prices.
Will you help her campaign weather these vicious attacks and contribute?

I am so proud of the work she’s done to pass a bipartisan bill that delivers common-sense results and cost savings to taxpayers. Prescription drug pricing is one of the most important issues to people in Central Virginia and it impacts families across the nation. Abigail is committed to fighting for affordable prescription drugs.
If you haven’t already, please take the time to read Abigail’s message. And if you can, send a contribution to help her campaign respond to these false attack ads.

Thank you,

Subject: Somebody is spending a lot of money in our district to keep prescription drug prices high

John
For the second time this month, national special interest groups have launched TV ads in our congressional district. The target of their ominous ads and anger —besides me — is H.R. 3, the "Lower Drug Costs Now Act."
H.R. 3 is the bill that would give Medicare the power to negotiate its prescription drug prices, which it is currently prohibited from doing, unlike the Veterans Administration which can negotiate prices.
H.R. 3 would make the negotiated rates available to all Americans with private insurance, saving the hard-earned money of the people I represent — who at times are choosing between filling their prescriptions and buying groceries.
The nonpartisan CBO estimates the bill would save taxpayers $500 billion over the next ten years, which the bill proposes reinvesting in Medicare benefits, combating the opioid crisis, and supporting community health centers in rural communities like the one I serve.
I believe competition in the marketplace is a good thing, and clearly many of my colleagues agree because H.R. 3 passed last Congress with bipartisan support.
So who would hate a bill that delivers such common-sense results and cost savings to taxpayers enough to run more than a hundred thousand dollars worth of attack ads in my district?
The same special interests that will continue spending dollar after dollar attacking me and my work to lower prescription drug prices from now until election day 2022.
We have a long road to go and many attacks yet to weather. Will you support me today with a contribution to our campaign?

Thank you,
Abigail Spanberger
