John,
The student debt crisis is a problem too massive for us to ignore. That’s why we are are launching #DreamsNotDebt.
Over 44 million people owe $1.7 trillion in federal student loan debt.1 Black college graduates owe an average of $25,000 more in student loan debt than white college graduates2 and women hold about two-thirds of the student loan debt in the U.S.3 The student debt crisis is preventing people, especially young people, from buying homes, starting families, saving for retirement, and building wealth.
This week, we are diving deep into how student debt affects young people and what youth-led local organizations are doing about it. We are also calling on the Biden Administration and members of Congress to take action on student debt.
HOW YOU CAN TAKE ACTION WITH US We invite you to take action with us during #DreamsNotDebt week!
Sign the Petition Sign our petition telling the Biden Administration to cancel all student debt, reform the student loan program to mitigate future student debt, and push Congress to pass College for All to make public colleges and universities free for all students.
