1803: Corps of Discovery
Civics Alliance Conference Call
Dear Friend,

Join us for two upcoming events this week. We're queued up to discuss the motivations and effects of the Lewis & Clark expedition and the latest issues in American civics education.

Tomorrow at 2 pm ET, NAS is hosting 1803: Corps of Discovery: Lewis & Clark's Expedition West as part of our running webinar series on American history. What did the Lewis and Clark expedition set out to accomplish? Did they succeed? What has been its most lasting effect? We'll discuss these questions and more during this event.

The webinar will feature Harry Fritz, professor emeritus of history at the University of Montana; James Holmberg, Curator of the Filson Historical Society; and Robert J. Miller, professor of law at the Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law at Arizona State University.

This Thursday at 2 pm ET, we're hosting a special Civics Alliance Conference Call. In this event, we'll discuss the current state of the Civics Alliance, including our new Alliance resources, and will bring you up to speed on the latest issues in American civics education.

The conference call will feature David Randall, Civics Alliance Project Director, and Julie Quist, Board Member of the Minnesota Child Protection League. Ms. Quist will provide information on how grassroots work should be done on the local level, with an emphasis on how the Child Protection League has started work on opposing Critical Race Theory in K-12 schools.
