Happy Pride Month, friends!

It’s my honor to stand with LGBTQ+ Americans and celebrate the progress we’ve made. Here in MI-11, Oakland County flew the Pride Flag for the first time this year -- I’m grateful for this support and visibility for the nearly 400,000 Michiganders who identify as LGBTQ+.

But we cannot stop there. We need to pass the Equality Act and finally ban discrimination on the basis of gender and sexuality. Will you be one of the 2,000 people I need to sign my petition and demand the Senate pass this bill during Pride Month?

Discrimination should be illegal, plain and simple. But here in Michigan, there are no such state laws protecting LGBTQ+ citizens.

Only 22 states have laws explicitly prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Equality Act is our chance to pass this law at a federal level and ensure that no LGBTQ+ American faces discrimination anywhere.

Will you sign my petition to celebrate Pride with action and pass the Equality Act? We need to get this bill on President Biden’s desk ASAP.
