John,
When COVID-19 hit in April 2020, Reproaction knew that ‘business as usual’ would not stand. In response to the overwhelming challenges, Reproaction reduced hours, inviting staff to work 32 hours a week while maintaining the benefits and salaries originally offered at 40 hours.
The flexible, reduced hours quickly became one of the most popular benefits among staff who consistently reported less stress and anxiety, a greater feeling of control over their work days, increased ease at scheduling and handling care work, and renewed vigor for their own work.
Seeing the positive effects over the year, Reproaction decided to make the change indefinite, inviting all full-time staff members to work 32 hours a week at full pay moving forward.
We believe this shift reflects our progressive values and our commitment to reproductive justice. We cannot build a lasting movement if we aren’t taking time and using our resources to rest and care for ourselves and our families.
Give now to show you agree that self-care isn’t selfish.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Skoski
Development and Operations Manager, Reproaction
P.S. We love our staff. We love our work. We love our supporters. We love our donors.
