Democrats in the Texas State Senate heroically prevented the passage of Senate Bill 7 last week -- a wildly suppressive voting bill that would crush any Democratic gains achieved in the past decade in the state.
With a Republican-controlled State Assembly and a midnight deadline, Texas Democrats bravely executed a historic walkout, breaking quorum and forcing S.B. 7 to sink.
But Republicans know that the only way to hold onto their power is to cheat.
GOP Governor Abbott has already called for a special session to attempt to pass the bill AGAIN -- and if successful, thousands of voters of color will be instantly disenfranchised, making electing a Democratic Senator or Governor practically impossible.
