New York City parents were understandably outraged to learn that their 1st grade children were recently shown an animated video about masturbation! Students at the $55,000-per-year Dalton School were reportedly shown the "sex education" video by “health and wellness” educator Justine Ang Fonte — who in April was said to have led a controversial and explicit “porn literacy” workshop for juniors at an elite prep school. We see this all too often--supposed "sex educators" pushing age-inappropriate, sexually explicit content upon vulnerable children--and often while pushing other personal agendas. TeenVogue.com, who we've called a "parent's worst nightmare," has been at it for years which is why we are calling for publisher Conde Nast to shut them down. Netflix continues to push every boundary imaginable by offering sexually exploitive content as seen in "Cuties" and countless other programs depicting children, or child-aged characters, in explicit sexual situations. The list goes on... All this comes while trends indicate sexual predators and traffickers are using the internet to contact, coerce and abuse children ---and grooming children to record their abuse, and that of their friends and siblings! Exposing children at such a young age to this type of content and trauma is setting them up for ongoing abuse! The multi-billion dollar pornography industry is counting on children becoming desensitized and addicted to sexually explicit content and activity at younger and younger ages. The harms suffered by children are very real: 21.7 million reports of suspected child sexual exploitation made to NCMEC’s CyberTipline in 2020, the highest number of reports ever received in one year – and a disturbing 97.5% increase in online enticement reports alone. 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 10 boys (aged 13-17) agreed that they have shared their own nudes. 40% agreed that “it’s normal for people my age to share nudes with each other." Children under the age of 10 account for 22% of online porn consumption among those under age 18; 10-14 year-olds make up 36% of minor consumers We must be vigilant about what goes on inside and outside of the home...and even in schools.
