Good evening and welcome to our Weekend Update.
Today we recognize the 77th anniversary of the D-Day
invasion. May we be reminded of all the brave men who ran onto
those beaches to fight against tyranny and for freedom. We must never
forget history and its important lessons. Those brave men each taught
us what it means to be truly courageous, to stand for something great,
even at risk of one’s own peril. May we be reminded today of the
greatness of the American spirit and the tremendous sacrifices made by
so many—so we could live free.
This week’s lackluster jobs report shows that there are over 8
million open jobs across the country that employers cannot fill. We
are hearing a consistent message from many business owners... they
can't find help. These issues are rooted in large part in liberal
policies that have been enacted, like enhanced unemployment
benefits.
To get America’s economy back on track, Democrat-run states like
Pennsylvania must stop disincentivizing work and killing career
development by reopening our schools and targeting unemployment
benefits to those who need it, as 25 Republican-led states have
already announced.
The reality is that our nation has the potential to see our
economy take off if we put in place the right plans and execute them.
Lower taxes, smaller government, eliminate unnecessary regulations are
policies that can forge a Great American Decade. We must
unleash the power of American innovators and entrepreneurs. This
success will not occur if the Biden Administration and Democrats
continue to push an agenda of excessive spending, higher taxes and
runaway inflation. We must grow opportunity in America, not the
government. Click

of tax and spend."
Another issue that has been a focus of the news this week is
centered on finding the true origins of the Covid-19 virus. For over a
year, the mainstream media has summarily dismissed the idea that the
Covid-19 pandemic began in a lab. However, in light of a tremendous
amount of evidence, it has become clear that it is a real possibility
the Covid-19 pandemic was generated in a lab in Wuhan. Dr. Anthony
Fauci's emails were released and they are troubling, creating more
questions than answers. We must get to the bottom of the origins of
this deadly disease in a factual, objective and bipartisan manner so
history does not repeat itself. Click
here to watch my recent interview with Maria Bartiromo with
Fox News, where we discussed this issue and the need for an
affordable transportation and infrastructure plan.
Additionally, I spoke to Newsmax about the origins of Covid-19 and
the need to reach an agreement on an actual transportation and
infrastructure plan. Biden’s T&I proposal includes scores of
wasteful spending, and taxpayers will get very little in return.
Instead, we need to focus on delivering to the American people a
traditional T&I plan that rebuilds our roads, bridges, and
highways and revitalizes communities. Click

In other news, President Donald Trump was banned from Facebook this
week for two years. Convenient that this ban runs through the next
election. Big tech has become a tool for the liberal left and they
must stop interfering in elections and limiting free speech. It’s
unfair, un-American, and we must get our hands on this issue.
This week, I joined the Schuylkill Chamber’s Leadership
Program who hosted a roundtable discussion for their government day. I
enjoyed speaking with members about what is going on in Washington and
my priorities to help Pennsylvanians in the 9th
District.
I stopped by an event for our good friend, State
Representative Doyle Heffley. Doyle is a dedicated public servant who
does a tremendous job staying rooted and grounded with the needs of
his local community. I am fortunate to work with many excellent state
and local elected officials, and Representative Heffley is one of the
best.
On Friday, I attended a golf outing hosted by the Housing
Authority of Northumberland County. The Housing Authority has taken a
leading role in working to revitalize and build stronger
communities.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you soon,
