This isn't a joke. One hundred respected experts on democracy and democratic breakdowns signed an open letter stating that "our entire democracy is now at risk" as a result of Republican voter suppression, expected gerrymandering, and attempts to take over election processes.

I can't overstate what a big deal this is. But let's take a deep breath. There are things we can do to stop them and save democracy. Things like passing the For the People Act, building a mass movement to stop 2021 gerrymandering, and taking bold actions against state-level voter suppression (like Texas House Democrats did last week).

At the NDRC we're working on all that and more, but we desperately need your financial support. Will you pitch in now to help us save democracy?

Let me highlight something else from the experts' letter: "We urge members of Congress to do whatever is necessary… in order to pass national voting and election administration standards." John , they're talking about the For the People Act. The Senate is expected to hold a vote in late June -- but will they pass it? That depends on how much pressure they feel in the next couple of weeks.
