Now more than ever, in this pivotal moment in American history, we need strong, progressive and experienced leadership in Congress. That is why, together, we must elect Nina Turner to Congress in Ohio’s 11th Congressional District.

The Democratic primary for this special election is on August 3, so we have a limited amount of time to help Nina build the strong grassroots campaign she'll need to win this race. Let's get moving.

As you know Nina has, for years, been one of the strong progressive voices in our country and I'm proud to call her a good friend. She did an outstanding job as an Ohio state senator from 2008 to 2014. In 2016, she was extremely active in our presidential campaign and, in 2020, was national co-chair of the Bernie 2020 campaign.

Frankly, I can't think of anyone who worked harder than Nina in both campaigns. From coast to coast she spoke passionately at large rallies, while also working behind the scenes to organize our successful multi-racial, multi-generational grassroots movement. She also played a key role as she fought for our principles on the DNC’s platform committee and as part of the Unity Reform Commission.

Growing up poor and Black in Cleveland, Nina understands that we need a government that represents all the people and not just the wealthy few. She also knows that the future of American democracy depends upon building a progressive grassroots coalition of working people from every background.

In electing Nina Turner to Congress we will be electing someone who will fight for the progressive values at the center of our movement, including Medicare for All, a living wage, pro-union legislation, free tuition at public colleges and universities, a Green New Deal, racial justice, immigration reform and much more.

It’s hard to imagine a better advocate in Congress for the people of Ohio and American working families than Nina Turner will be. And with your help, I believe she’ll get there.
