When Bernie decided to run for president, people thought he was crazy for rejecting high-dollar fundraisers and a super PAC.

They said, "Bernie, you’ll never be able to raise what it takes to win." They said he had no chance. Others simply dismissed him outright.

But Bernie recognized something few had the imagination to even consider:

Despite our absolutely insane campaign finance laws, the working people of this country are ready to unite and fight behind a candidate who is authentically and manifestly ready to fight for them.

And that is why we have more donors and more contributions than any campaign in the history of American politics at this point in the race.

But the hard and honest truth is that we cannot let up. This is an effort that must be sustained from start to finish. That is our only chance. So today — especially today — we have to ask:

But we have proven that they are no match for us when we are in this together.
