We need to talk about the very real potential for Republicans to flip Virginia red and undo all of the progress we’ve made in the last two years.

In 2019 we flipped Virginia’s state government blue for the first time in decades. Since then we’ve made historic progress towards equity and justice for all. We ended the death penalty. We expanded voting rights. We strengthened labor unions. We banned discrimination against LGBTQ Virgnians. All of that is in jeopardy now.

The Republicans have nominated the far-right Winsome Sears in the race for Lt. Governor. Sears has been clear that she will roll back the clock on our progressive policies and remake Virginia in the image of Donald Trump. We can’t let her win.

If we want to keep Virginia blue, we need to nominate a candidate for Lt. Governor who is ready to win. Sean is the only candidate in this race who has what it takes to go up against Sears and dismantle her lies and scare tactics one by one. The Republicans are already so scared of Sean that they attacked him on Fox News just last week. The last thing they want is for Sean to be the Democrat they go up against. That’s why we have to do everything we can to make sure we win on Tuesday.
