Republicans are so sure that Trump's 6-3 Supreme Court will overturn Roe v. Wade that they've already put “trigger” bills in place to ban abortions the moment it happens.

That's right, Texas governor Greg Abott signed legislation to ensure that once the “Supreme Court wholly or partially overturns Roe v. Wade … individuals who perform or attempt to perform an abortion in Texas will face a second-degree felony,” according to The Hill. And the felony would increase to a first-degree if the abortion was successful.

There is no exception made for women seeking an abortion because they were raped or the victim of incest.

This assault on our reproductive rights won't end in Texas, John. This is only the first wave. Republicans are eager to control women's bodies, and they have introduced dozens of anti-choice laws in states across the country. They're as close as they've ever been to overturning Roe v. Wade and taking crucial bodily autonomy away from all women in this country.

That's why our team is working to unseat anti-choice Republicans like Greg Abbott and replace them with progressive, pro-choice women, but this issue is being swept under the rug.
