What's New In Health Affairs
Health Policy Brief
A new Health Affairs Policy Brief covers inequalities in workplace exposure to health risks and economic insecurity. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated these risks for many, but has also shined a light on the problem. In their new brief, Rebecca Wolfe and coauthors argue that policy action is needed to protect workers’ health during the pandemic and to support worker empowerment and equitable opportunities in the future.

A May paper in our Considering Health Spending series investigates spending on imaging and lab services after primary care physician group vertical integration. Christopher Whaley and coauthors found that vertical integration increases the use of hospitals for common diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.

Coming on Monday: Vabren Watts, Health Affairs Health Equity Project Director, will be speaking at the Virtual National Health Equity Summit on a panel titled “Advancing Health Equity in Health Services Research and Health-Related Scholarly Publishing.” He will be joined by Health Affairs authors Rhea Boyd, Edwin Lindo, and Fernando De Maio.
