Hey,

Pride isn't a flag. It's not a rainbow coffee cup or a t-shirt. It's a choice to live authentically and celebrate in a world that too often asks you to hide.

Fifty-two years ago this June, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a refuge for the LGBTQ+ community in Manhattan. It wasn't the first time but, that night, led by Black and Latinx patrons, they said, "Enough!"

Despite the threat of losing their jobs or homes because of who they were and whom they loved, they protested for days and sparked the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Millions of Americans have continued to fight to not only live authentically and love whom they love -- but to simply exist.

We've seen incredible progress in the years since -- but some continue desperately trying to turn back the clock. In the last year, waves of new anti-trans bills were introduced in state legislatures across the country. And even though the Supreme Court upheld protections against workplace discrimination, too many still face the threat of being evicted or denied services for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or queer.

It's time for federal legislation to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans. If you agree, will you stand with me and demand action this Pride Month? [[link removed]]

The House already passed the Equality Act, but the Senate has not. I am proud to be a co-sponsor of this legislation, but I'll need your help to get it passed into law.

By showing your support for the Equality Act, you can help provide the momentum to ensure that LGBTQ+ Americans of all races no longer face the threat of losing their homes or being denied public accommodation because of their gender or whom they love.

Join me in demanding an end to discrimination against LGBTQ+ Americans. Add your name now. [[link removed]]

This bill will not be the end. Our fight isn't over and, in the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to debating, sponsoring, and passing more legislation to protect the civil rights of every American. I'm glad to have you with me in this fight.

Thank you,

Bob Casey
