Hi there --
Donald Trump promised to “drain the swamp.” Not only was that a lie but the culture of corruption he created is carrying over well beyond his presidency.
The latest example? Ryan Zinke, Trump's former Secretary of the Interior who resigned in disgrace in the face of at least 18 separate ethics investigations, is running for Congress in Montana. And Trump just officially announced his endorsement.
Former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is the embodiment of Trump-era Republican corruption. While Zinke cut back regulations for oil and gas drilling on public lands, he accepted money from oil drilling megacorporation Halliburton, creating a massive conflict of interest. He also spent taxpayer money on lavish decorations for his office and vacations for his wife.
With Trump's endorsement, Zinke is going to have the money and the support of the Trump-loving Republican base. The worst part? The seat Zinke is running for was just created in the census reapportionment and is one of the best opportunities Democrats have to add to our House majority.
Friend, Democrats cannot afford any missed opportunities in 2022. We're fighting an uphill battle and need to compete in every single district across this country -- most importantly for open seats like this one in Montana.
