John,
Meals on Wheels holds a special place in my heart. My great-grandma was a recipient and relied on their hot, nutritious meals just like many other elderly folks across the 4th district and around the country. But they don't only provide meals, they're also critical emotional and social support, especially in our rural communities, where folks may be far from family or a hospital or grocery store.
That's why I was so honored to join Angela Kofoot, who leads the Meals on Wheels program in Spirit Lake, and Cory Booker to discuss these important issues and help deliver meals to a few folks here.
Food insecurity in America isn't just an issue about food. It's a complex and intersecting problem involving healthcare, transportation, agriculture, poverty, race, the economy, and so much more. Check out my answer about the importance of Meals on Wheels to me. [[link removed]]
